European Union grant programmes are more accessible to companies based in Turkey than most assume. Yet the majority of applications are rejected not on technical quality but because they do not answer the call's evaluation criteria. Evaluators look for specific answers in a specific order; where a proposal is not built to that order, even a strong project loses points.

This advisory starts by establishing which programme and which call your project idea actually fits, continues through proposal design and budget construction, and — where the application succeeds — extends into reporting obligations.

What This Service Covers

How We Work

  1. Eligibility screeningWhich programme, call and application type the idea fits. If there is no suitable call, that is said at this stage.
  2. Proposal designThe call's evaluation criteria are extracted point by point and the proposal is structured to answer them.
  3. BudgetPersonnel, equipment, subcontracting and indirect costs are modelled to programme rules.
  4. ConsortiumWhere required, the partner profile is defined and the search supported.
  5. Submission and beyondThe application is completed on the portal; on award, the reporting calendar is set up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can companies based in Turkey apply for EU funds?

Turkey participates in programmes such as Horizon Europe with associated country status, and eligibility conditions vary by programme and by call. Every engagement begins by checking the current eligibility rules of the relevant call.

Does a grant mean the money never has to be repaid?

A grant is in principle non-repayable, but it carries co-financing rates, eligible cost definitions and reporting obligations. Expenditure found ineligible can be reclaimed.

How long does the application process take?

It depends on the call's closing date. A sound application needs at least eight to ten weeks before the deadline; consortium applications take longer.

Can you guarantee the application will be accepted?

No, and no advisor can. What can be done is to ensure the proposal answers every evaluation criterion and avoids the formal errors that cause rejection.
